Biochemistry refers to examining the chemical activities inside our bodies. These activities are crucial to our well being and can greatly affect our behaviour, emotions, learning and performance. The field has grown tremendously at the turn of the century. We now know a lot more on how we can improve and even change our biochemistry to our advantage. The field of biochemistry is very broad and with the scientific tests and tools now available, they give deeper insights into our overall well being and help us to effect a change from within.

Elevated levels of Arsenic, Lead, Mercury are toxic in the body
Exposure to toxic elements is more widespread than we think. We found out that even in developed countries, many people are exposed to these toxic elements without realizing it. One reason is due to excessive consumption of fish and seafoods which results in accumulation of Mercury. Such toxic elements can negatively affect our health and performance. Mercury causes oxidative damage to cells and many researches showed that it can cause memory loss, symptoms of ADHD (inattentiveness) and symptoms of autism.Glandular conditions – Thyroid and Adrenals
Eg: Our glands produce hormones that affect our emotions and behaviour. A sluggish thyroid will lead to low energy levels and a foggy mind. Weak adrenals affect a person’s ability to cope with stress.Nutritional imbalances
Similar to toxic exposure, nutritional imbalances are more widespread than we think. This could possibly due to the narrow range of foods in most people’s diet, life stressors which deplete body of many nutrients etc. Eg: A low sodium/potassium ratio can lead to depression and mood swings. A high copper/Zinc ratio can lead to learning difficulties and hyperactivity.Great advances in the field of biological tests have enabled us to go beyond symptoms and questionnaire findings.
We use a variety of laboratory tests to determine the internal biochemistry of our clients. Please check out the links below for more information about our biochemistry lab tests.
