Many established centres provide a home training program for their clients. This makes sense as the training for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) children and adults can take months if not years. For some it could be an ongoing therapy. Home training not only lowers the cost of neurofeedback, it also makes it more convenient as the ASD child does not have to commute to and from the neurofeedback centres thus reducing stress. The neurofeedback timing can be planned during optimum times of the day.

Spectrum Learning rolled out a Home Training Workshop in November 2006. In the Home Training Workshop, parents learn how to do the neurofeedback therapy at home under supervision from Spectrum Learning. Parents attend a three day practical workshop where they actually do neurofeedback on each other. They get to feel what it is like and how it is done. This experience is invaluable and equips parents well for the task ahead. One parent commented: “Now I know what my son goes through when he comes for neurofeedback!” Parents also felt empowered as they are doing something pro-active to help their loved ones. The ratings for the home training workshop are very good. We have parents coming from all over the world, such as England, Germany, South Africa, India, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.
